Co-op and Internship Experience

CAD & CAM Engineer at Rik-Mar Fabricators

(Jan. 2024 to June 2024)

During my part-time and full-time employment with Rik-Mar Fabricators, I lead design of several different projects, assisted in creating and nesting flat patterns for cutting on their Trumpf laser cutter, assisted in operation of their laser cutter, sheet metal brake, and other automated manufacturing. Creating new designs from communicated ideas and “back of the napkin” sketches was common. I also assisted in fabrication on several projects that utilized large sheet metal rolling, water jetting, welding, and other manual manufacturing methods.

Construction Internship at Richard Dias Construction

(May 2022 – July 2022)

With my full-time position at Richard Dias Construction, I operated heavy machinery, assisted in blower door testing of new construction, and assisted several subcontractors in the construction of new private homes from framing through painting. I learned about the logistical constraints of the construction business, assisted in layout and installation of home electrical and HVAC systems.  I also assisted in logistical planning, transportation, shipping, and delivery of building materials and capital equipment.

Automotive Restoration at South Texas Auto

(Nov. 2018 – May 2019)

When working for South Texas Auto in an informal, part-time internship for my high-school capstone project I was guided on the process for restoring and modifying my 1982 Datsun 280ZX. Some of the work that was involved was wiring of the major electrical systems, frame pulling to correct for an accident the vehicle was involved in and swapping the drivetrain in from a 1996 Chevrolet C1500.

Work Experience between Internships and Co-op

Retail Service Specialist at O' Reilly Auto Parts

(Feb. 2023 – Oct. 2023)

At O’Reilly’s in my part-time position, I was a key holder and managed opening and closing of the store. I helped designate tasks for other employees and oversaw the store operations when the store manager was not present. I assisted in managing inventory, was responsible for shipping and receiving, and worked to maintain and improve professional and hobby customer relationships.

Shift Lead/Key Holder at N.A.P.A Auto Parts

(Jan. 2020 to Dec. 2022)

During my part-time and full-time employment
with NAPA Auto Parts I was a shift lead and
managed opening and closing of the store and
delegating work to my co-workers. I was
responsible for shipping and receiving of orders,
handling customer satisfaction, and placing
custom orders from outside vendors. I assisted
in moving the store to a new location which
involved managing inventory, managing
temporary workers, and re-directing customers
to other nearby locations while prioritizing a
good experience during this inconvenience.

Day Manager at Thin Air Trampoline Park

(May 2017 – May 2019)

My first job during high school where I worked in a part-time and full-time capacity where I was promoted to management quickly and oversaw 15+ employees. I was responsible for equipment management, compiling injury reports for corporate, handling thousands of customers in a weekend, all while making customer satisfaction and being detail oriented my number one priorities.
